Northwood Place 32 Units of Affordable Housing
Project Vision
To create approximately 32 units of affordable rental units on the north end of the YMCA lot on Saddle Road, currently owned by the City of Ketchum. The project will strive to balance affordability with sustainable building and design that will enable it to blend into the existing architecture of Ketchum, while providing new affordable rental units for the areas workforce and residents. Other considerations include maintaining parking for the YMCA and residents of the Project. Innovative construction types will be explored to minimize costs while achieving energy efficiency and sustainability. The primary goal will be to create a project the community can be proud of and emulate.
Project Scope and Design
The residential buildings will be limited to three stories to better incorporate the project with the surrounding uses. One, two and three bedroom units will be designed to meet the needs of a variety of household sizes. The 3 bedroom units will be a townhome design with garages. Unit sizes will range from 617 s.f. to 1,234 s.f. with external entrances to the units. External amenities will include decks/patios, a children’s playground and generous storage lockers. Internal unit amenities will include energy efficient appliances, garbage disposals, microwaves, washers and dryers. There will also be a manager’s office and community room. The total square footage of the five buildings will be approximately 32,000 square feet.
