The New Ketchum Town Square
The Town Square is Phase 1 of Ketchum’s Downtown Master Plan; adopted in 2006. An outdoor plaza is the centerpiece to the economic revitalization of the downtown core; directly benefitting those businesses immediately adjacent to the plaza as well as the entire town. The pedestrian corridor along 4th Street, together with vehicle and transit access from Sun Valley Rd. and surrounding streets creates an ideal setting for the Town Square.
Completion is planned for July 2, 2010. While the Downtown Master Plan calls for the eventual redevelopment of the Town Square project site as part of the Phase 2 development (which includes three new buildings anchoring the square and associated underground parking), most of the materials used in the Phase 1 project can be reused in Phase 2.
The Town Design Team is preparing to exhibit its design concepts to the public and the Ketchum City Council on February 16th, 2010. The design concepts are based on advise from consultants and follow best practices which build community and invigorate the economy. Private sector bidding for construction contracts will proceed according to state law for this type of property.

To date, we have raised a more than $400,000 of the $475,000 needed to construct the Town Square. 75% of the total must come from private donations, with 25% coming from existing city funds. If the remaining amount is raised by March 1, we will be able to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on the Fourth of July. It is our goal to do the construction during slack season.
There are a number of donor naming opportunities available. For information please contact Marybeth Flower at 208-726-5104
