The KCDC has adopted a strategic framework based on delivering specific projects which improve the Quality of Life for the Community which is fully consistent with the City Master Plan of 1999 and the Downtown Master Plan of 2006.  In this context, Quality of Life and Sense of Community have been defined by the following six “concepts”:

  • Quality job opportunities & vibrant economy
  • Recreation & transport alternatives
  • Communications & outreach
  • Diverse housing options
  • Sustainable environment & green brand
  • Vibrant town & preservation of heritage

To promote these concepts, 4 teams, one for each of Economic Development, Affordable Housing, Energy Solutions, and Town Design, have been organized work under the guidance of the KCDC Board.  Using the guidance provided by this Strategic Plan, each such team will plan, initiate and deliver discrete projects that can build on this framework, and deliver real and practical improvement.

These projects and teams will focus their efforts on greater Ketchum, but also support projects for the broader community of the Wood River Valley (the “Community”).  In this context, the teams will seek and be open to collaboration with other regional organizations when appropriate.
